Corporate Governance:

AfriCana Village & Museum is a Toronto based incorporated non-profit organization that is led by a President/Executive Director which reports to a voluntary appointed Board of Directors.

AfriCana Village Development Corporation (AVDC) is a federally incorporated for-profit private corporation consisting of a CEO, Shareholders/Investors. AVDC was created to raise the private capital required to match potential government investment/ funding in this proposed "social purpose /enterprise" initiative. Combined these two separate entities creates a "hybrid" social enterprise.  Dedicated to and governed by AVDC Corporate Bylaws which states that 10-20% of net- profits must be re-invested back into African -Canadian community- based social, economic and cultural projects and initiatives. We are still working on developing appropriate structures and the above is subject to change, however OUR core vision and mandate will always remain Economic and Cultural Empowerment of African-Canadians.
