Project Development:

AfriCana's goal is to start construction in 2012 or thereabouts to meet the 2015 Pan Am Games deadline. AfriCana Village preliminary projected capital cost is $300 million for construction and an additional $15-$20 million for the creation and installation of all the exciting and innovative interactive cultural elements at the National Museum of African Canadian History & Culture. We have had extensive discussions with Toronto- based Lord Cultural Consultants (www.lord.ca) who has developed a number of African-American heritage tourism sites in the US. We had discussions with a number of tourism based consulting firms who are ready to move forward on this venture. In order to make this VISION a reality, AfriCana Village promoters have done extensive research and held meetings with key supporters and potential partners from all levels of Government, and various community and private sector based groups in Canada and the US.
