Strategic Initiatives

Development of the AfriCana Village & Museum will undertake the following strategic  initiatives:Our mission is to economically, educationally and culturally empower the African-Canadian community:

    * Establish stakeholder partnerships with local African-Caribbean and continental African community groups to create jobs, mentorship, and youth programs within the African Canadian community. Special attention will be given to the "13 priority neighbourhoods" + Regent Park as outlined by Mayor Miller.
    * We will also engage other low income areas across the GTA and Canada. Provide financial and administrative support to the newly restructured Caribana Arts Group to assist it in achieving long-term sustainability. We believe that Caribana should recieve a significant amount of its funding from the African Canadian community as its our cultural expression, we need to own it and support it.
    * A portion of profits generated will go the The AfriCana Village Foundation which will fund and provide financial assistance in the form of grants, educational scholarships, etc.
    * Grants and funding will be made to community groups and individuals with-in the African-Canadian and Caribbean and continental African community of Toronto and Canada to build organizational capacities while economically empowering these groups to develop sustainable employment and social development projects. An African-Canadian Credit Union managed by "qualified" professionals is planned.

    * An African-Canadian "Think Tank" and business incubator dedicated to developing and funding African -Canadian entrepreneurs, increasing trade between Canada, CARICOM, and continental Africa.
    * And More...
